How does the Maldives Hilton compare to other Maldives resorts?

I am planning a vacation December 6-12 to Maldives. I would like to stay at the Maldives Hilton Resort (yes, I know very pricey) but wanted to see if anyone has traveled there and if that is the best deal compared to other resorts on the island. What other recommendations would you make?

First, you should know it is going through a name change — to the Conrad. Look for some promotions on this change for year end 2007.

How can I find a job with international travel?

I’m in my mid 20s with a BA in Journalism/Mass Communications. I have been working in Telecommunications for the past 3 years. I don’t really care what kind of work I do, I just want to get out and travel while I don’t have any responsibilities tying me down at home.

You could try Peace Corps. You don’t have to be right out of college to do it, and it’s a real adventure. A lot of people get international jobs as a result of their volunteer service, especially if you learn another language fluently.

Since you are a communications person, you also have a very marketable skill: writing. If you’re out there and can write, someone will pick you up.

The best thing is that you meet a lot of like-minded people and make friends for life.

How do you use United’s travel discount certificate for online tix purchases?

I received travel certificates from United from a service desk rep and I’m trying to figure out how to use these to purchase a ticket online. Also, if I have more than one can these be combined?

You can use the travel discounts in any of these ways
If you have 2 travel certificates,

- Use it on 2 one-way tickets on seperate itineraries if its just you
- Use it on a roundtrip ticket in the case of a 2nd passenger is going with you

The same way factored if you have more than 2.

Best way to get the maximum discount + the discount certificates is if you have 4 certificates is create 4 seperate one-way itineraries for 2 passengers

You can’t apply multiple certificates i.e. 2 unless its worked with through 2 one-ways on 2 seperate itineraries. Can’t be used as 2 certificates for 1 roundtrip on 1 itinerary.

To use your travel discount:

1. Go to www.united.com
2. Enter the airport city or code you are leaving from then the destination city or code.
3. Enter the date you are leaving and the date you are returning
4. Number of Passengers, if its more people than just you and you have discount certificates, you must select 1 passenger in order to use a certificate at a time.
5. There is a drop down below More search options that says Upgrades, promotions, class, non-stops… Click that and then enter the travel discount certificate.

what are the bus companies/ocean liners that travel from davao city/ general santos city to tacloban city?

im planning to travel from davao city to tacloban or vice versa, im wondering if anyone has a knowledge what bus or ocean liners have scheduled trips for my travel and how much are the rates.. i need help please… thanks !

I think you can take an Airplane from Davao to Tacloban and vice versa for 1000 pesos more or less. But I think you can also take the boat company "supercat" to cebu for maybe 500 one way, then once in Cebu you ride another boat from cebu to Ormoc City which is about another 500 pesos, and then once you are in ormoc you take a van to tacloban which is about 200 pesos. Then from Tacloban to Davao City is pretty much the same thing but backwards.

How much to spend on vacation in Costa Rica?

Is 2,000 dollars enough to spend on vacation in Costa Rica? Is that considered a lot of money there for one week? I believe that is like a million plus colones. Can someone tell me, if I should bring more….or is that fine????

$2000 is more than enouph for a week, unless you plan on buying property, lol

Where can I find a romantic beachside cabin in Dominican Republic that would be good for a honeymoon?

There are few beachside cabins. You can rent private homes or villas but beachfront is top dollar. Most visitors stay at resorts, most are fairly large.

What do you think of a Sandals Resort Vacation and which Resort is best?

My boyfriend and I (mid-late 20s) are thinking of going on a Sandals vacation for our upcoming anniversary. But, we don’t know anyone that has gone to a Sandals Resort before. Are they any good? Is it actually nice and romantic? Also, which Resort do you think is best for people our age? Thanks!

My husband and I went to Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa for our honeymoon. It was WONDERFUL!!! There are plenty of things to do, and the food was great. We cannot wait to plan our next trip!

Im looking for cheap travel ideas from paris to london, any ideas?

After christmas I want to go to Paris and London and I am looking for the cheapest way to travel from one to the other? Also if you have any Ideas for New Years in either location?

Eurostar (train) is the quickest and easiest. You may find a budget airline flight for less money but it’s more hassle. Eurostar takes you from the center of one city to the center of the other.

New Year in either city is expensive. For London the West End and Trafalgar Square are the popular places to go. In Paris the Champs-Elysse and Arc du Triomphe (spelling is probably wrong) are very good areas. Be careful in Paris they like to throw fireworks into crowds of people which can get scary.

What is a good location for winter getaways?

I live in the northwest and the winters here are gray and depressing. Next winter I want to get away to somewhere warm and sunny but not ridiculously expensive. What are some good locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, or other warm U.S. states where someone can visit a resort for lounging around a pool in January?
