New york is more than New York City. It has some of the best state park land anywhere, the catskills and appalachian mountains provide awesome hiking, lake and creek swimming, mountain biking, and winter sports like snowboarding and skiing. Add that to New York City, and within 2 hours you have virtually everything you will ever want, lets not forget we have some decent beeches in long island.
