    Peckinpah was one of a filmmaker. Even though this was one of his lesser efforts, it could mop the floor with 99% of the crap that comes out today. Damn, the early ’70s were a great time for American films…

    Yeah I agree but McQueen needs to be in a movie surrounded by interesting characters/actors because he never once displays emotions when acting. Did good films though

    I don’t know about Peckinpah more than he was an alcoholic and a nut.

    The prison scenes appear to be filmed in Huntsville at the Ellis Unit (exterior scenes after McQueen gets released) but other scenes were filmed at “The Walls” in downtown Huntsville. (No, I was NOT an inmate there).
