You could try Peace Corps. You don’t have to be right out of college to do it, and it’s a real adventure. A lot of people get international jobs as a result of their volunteer service, especially if you learn another language fluently.

Since you are a communications person, you also have a very marketable skill: writing. If you’re out there and can write, someone will pick you up.

The best thing is that you meet a lot of like-minded people and make friends for life.

there are so many jobs that require international travel!! I just recently got a job in a global project management firm and everyone here is always gone! My sister works in the hotel management industry and her hotel requires her going overseas regularly to meet clients.. but if you are in journalism, im sure there are heaps of opportunities.. maybe look into applying in some international news magazine? newspaper?
