My family got a great deal on a trip to Jamaica last year during the winter. There was a brand new resort opening up (a Riu) and we were there during their "trial" period so they were still working a few things out and thus had great discounts. Unless you're very demanding, a few minor problems are definitely worth the amount of money we saved!
